This is my sketch:

And here is my inspo:

Just look at what Featured Member Jo did....

.... pretty 'wow' right?

Don't let the angular nature of the sketch scare you off. Interpret it however you like. Can't wait to see what you make of it! :)))

Make sure you upload your layout into the sketch thread in The Boxx Forum by midnight on Monday 30th April for the chance to have your layout featured in the main gallery for the entire month of May.

Cheers for now,

It's a Kraft Fun Day!...

Just popping in quickly to share my Boxx of Scraps layout for this month.  It's full of gorgeous My Mind's Eye Kraft Fun Day papers .... which I have a serious crush on!  :)

{be u}
(Prima stamp, paper doily and kaisercraft flower not included in kit)

This page is quite muted and moody as I have layered all that Krafty goodness over and over again... using very little extra contrast.  I had a lot of fun playing with the background, watering down gesso and spritzing it onto the Kraft  .. :)  ... stamping using the brilliant little Prima brick stamp, then splattering some glimmermist on top of everything.  Those Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas are just the icing on top!

The possibilities are endless and there is much more to this kit .... enough for several layouts.

Instructions for this layout will be available over at The Boxx for kit subscribers really soon!  :)

Cheers for now,

Jules

Feb BOY kit..

Hi there, it's time to share a layout using this month's BOY kit.. I've chosen a summery theme this time around, if you're anything like me you'll have a pile of pics taken over the summer and have only scratched the surface on getting them scrapped..

I'm loving the bright colours in the AC Amy Tangerine papers, remarks and thickers..

I hope you have fun playing with your kit too..full instructions for this layout are posted in the BOY kit group

Feb BOS Kit

Hi All,
Just a quick peek at the 2nd page I completed using the Feb BOS Kit. It is a little different to the first I know, but I was in a different mind set when I started!!! Well here goes:

So Sorry
Will be back Soon!

My 2 boys with their much loved Pop who celebrated his 70th Birthday this year! Went a little bit grungy this time, decided I did not get dirty enough with the last one!

I stuck with the Kit pretty much except for the stamps ansd guess what I still have stuff left over that will go into a few cards perhaps!

As you can see I did not use the frame as such, just wanted to use the flourish, so I took to it with a scalpel any rough edges you can file off with a sanding block or I use an emery board for the smaller bits.
So there you have it, I hope everyone has as much fun as I did with this Kit. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has created!

The kit was full of modern rich colours and some vintage designs so I chose a photo with that in mind..... my Vintage (Mum, she is so gonna hate me for saying that) and my modern man, Kodey (my eldest). I made the heart like a patchwork quilt as that is my Mum's passion, I think the papers really worked well along this theme. Stay tuned for the next one, and the instructions for this page will be uploaded onto the group site shortly!

Have fun with it and I hope I have inspired!!

Whats Hot??

Ok,  I have been cruising the web and I have noticed the "it" thing right now is using geometrical shapes! They are everywhere and can take on a retro look or can be simple and clean. Just take a look at the latest Crafters Workshop stencils that are so popular, everything from the humble triangle and hearts to chevron and herringbone looks. I have even noticed it all coming back into home decor and wall papers!!!!

So as a tribute to the new "IT", I have come up with my own geometric page using the Crafters Workshop stencil as a starting point.

So Sorry
will be Back soon!

Then I added my own "Chevrons" using strips of paper cut into V's. To get them even just fold your strip of paper in half and cut on a diagonal.  To add interest throw on some "confetti" (more geometric shapes in miniature) and the job is done!

The chipboard is all from ScrapFX just sprayed with Mister Hueys!

Hope I have inspired, looking forward to seeing some fun, retro, "geo" (my made up technical term!) layouts,
Thanks for looking!!

A New Fortnightly Challenge....

It's my turn this fortnight ... so without further ado...

I'd like you to present a layout with a colour requirement.  Any two colours of your choice, however they must be in the ratio of 85:15.  In addition, the colour in the ratio of 85% must be in a neutral range ie greys, creams, kraft, white, black, brown etc.  The contrast colour however is entirely up to you!

Sounds pretty simply right?  That's what I thought too... until I tried it!!  Really tempting to add more colour, I don't mind telling you  {snicker}.

Here is my sample:

{all things....}

Head on over to the Boxx and upload your entry to the Fortnghtly challenge thread to be in the running for a $10 voucher at The Boxx Shop!

Happy challenge scrapping! :)

Cheers,

Jules

BOY kit layout...

Hi and happy Sunday all, I'm back to share another LO created with the gorgeous Jan BOY (Book of You) kit.. Continuing on with the 'Childhood Memories' theme of the kit, I've scrapped this pic of my youngest daughter, Jem with one of her fave book series (and mine) called 'Old Tom'...

I've used lots of items from the October Afternoon 'Sidewalks' line including pattern paper hand cut flowers and some buttons, ribbon, and tickets from the 'Miscellany' pack...

and the title using the Authentique alpha stickers..

I've finished off with a couple of buttons from my stash, some glimmer mist, gesso and hand journaling.. Full instructions are available in the BOY kit group for subscribers..
