June BOY Kit instructions are in!

Hi all these two pages are what I created with the June kit, sooo much fun!!!
The instructions for both LO's are up in the discussion group now!
Apologies for taking so long getting these done had to battle with my lack of MOJO after getting back from holidays!
A cool way to get 2 uses out of your chippie titles.

Loved all the papers and of course the tape!
Painted up the title after spraying and you have 2 titles for 2 pages!

Anyway hope you all have fun with the kit it is a nice and bright one with plenty of supplies, I still have a heap left over for more....
Thanks for dropping by

Another May BOY Kit Page

Told you all I would be back, this time with a LO that is a little more Girly from the gorgeous Kit.

My Lovely nieces.

Created my own stencil from left overs and gessoed the butterflies.

I tried to keep it simple, something I rarely do,
I never know when to stop until it is too late!
I had so much fun with this kit and I still have stuff leftover for cards.
Now for the June Kit......
Thanks for joining me

May BOY Kit

Back again this time with the LO I created using the awesome May BOY kit, instructions for this LO will be up in the group shortly!

The papers in this Kit I totally loved! I also have another Lo almost ready to go that is a little more Girly (well for me it is anyway) I will post that one very soon.
The only thing I used that is not included in the kit was the buttons I used from my stash!
I hope I have inspired and I have you all rushing to get your hands on one of these kits!!

What's Hot for Chilly June

Hi all,
hope everyone is keeping warm and creating up a "storm" in these icy months of Winter! So, what is "hot" for June... well I know I have talked about tape before, but the trend is still very "Now"! I can't get enough of this versatile stuff, they just keep coming up with more fun and funky designs to keep me happy!
So I thought I would show you something different to do with it and, I kid you not, so incredibly easy to do...... I am going over to the USA to visit my little brother who has 3 girls very soon so I thought I could whip up a little gift for my nieces.
These are what I came up with.... notebooks to go with their Caramellos and Tim Tams!

So so easy you will have these done in a Jiffy! I bought the notebooks from Officeworks, they were just plain white covers then I just piled on the tape. You could use the same technique for cards and gift tags.
If you are not a hoarder like me with tape of every colour known to man, you could incorporate strips of scrap paper with some tape for the same affect!
I hope I have given some inspiration, stay warm and scrap happy!

BOS - May sneak

Hello Everyone!!  Just wanted to share the first layout that can be created from the May Boxx of Scraps!  This kit is jammed packed with plenty of Crate Paper goodness and then some.

Not only do I love the way the kit stickers can be so versatile but, I also love how the Crafters Template ledger gives just a hint of texture beneath the cluster of elements.

Full instructions can be found in the Boxx of Scraps kit group.  Thanks for visiting..x

May Uplift

Hi Girls,

It was my turn to do an uplift for May and I apologise sincerely for not posting until......June :0
I have had this project on the back burner for a while but unfortunately my life tends to get in the way of my scrapping.

I picked a layout in the gallery a while back and I can't think of anyone better to uplift than the wonderfully talented Leeann Pearce  - I am a big fan of her style and also of her Etsy shop The Chip Chop Shop. If you haven't checked out her blog or her shop I highly recommend that you head over for a sneek peek.

This is the layout I created with her inspiration -

And this is her wonderful layout -

How gorgeous is that...........

I used some of the wonderful BO Bunny "Ambrosia" range of pattern paper and embellishments that can be purchased at the BOXX Shop.

Hope you have all had a scrappy weekend
Till next time

What's Hot for May??!!

Hello To all Michelle here with the What's Hot for this Month!

When I was trying to decide on the subject of this post, I was torn between two prevalent trends right now, so I decided to combine two in the one LO.

The first trend is along the lines of one of my last posts, in that geometric shapes are still all the rage, but I have noticed that the humble hexagon is everywhere! A lot of the paper ranges have helped us out and printed papers that feature this very versatile and easy shape to cut out! It is so easy to get a page together using it for either Girl or Boy pages.

I have used the hexys ( a term of endearment that is totally made up by me, because that is just what I do to amuse myself) from the My Minds Eye paper, loved the colours I guess!

The other trend was a certain colour...... have you noticed that "GREY IS THE NEW BLACK" (as they say in fashion circles, apparently). It is everywhere and can be teamed beautifully with any colour, I love how it complements everything! I am sure you can find just the shade to suit your next project!
Thats it from me for the "Grey Month of May" Great weather for Scrappin'!
If you want to see a little more of this page head over to my Blog will be posting it there in the next day or so with some close ups and details, in the meantime y'all have some creative fun!

What's Hot for April???

Wow, the time has flown this year! Have had such a busy start to the year, blink and it is already April. Any way I may have been real busy but not busy enough to stop me trawling the scrapbooking/papercrafting world for what is on trend for the month of April. There are a load of new ranges hitting our shores from the winter CHA trade shows back in Feb, I love so many, but because I have boys my faves are more limited..... luckily!
So what have I found? Well along with loads of tape and tags in their paper ranges, I have found that 3 colours keep appearing, greys, blues and yellow! These colours create such a fresh summery feel and would be great for all those beachy holiday snaps, now that the weather is getting so much cooler here (perfect for girl cave pursuits ie scrapbooking) we need something to bring cheer!!! (yes I really do not like winter!). So enough gabbing this is what I created using some of the new ranges as well as a sprinkling of the old scraps on hand:
The papers are a mixed bunch from Studio Calico, Lilybee, Kaiser and My Minds Eye.

The chipboard Title alpha, spinners and corner thingy are all from ScrapFX. I painted then while wet sprinkled with embossing powder called weathered wood (now this is very old stuff from when I used to emboss everything that did not run away) it gave the chippies a worn sandy look. Then I sprayed with the mists letting it "pool".

Still have been unable to kick the strips of paper habit and the "confetti" look!

So there you have it a colour scheme to brighten up that winter chill!
Stay happy everyone, sorry I have not been around so much lately I promise to rectify that in the future!

Journal 101 - Tip #5

Hi Everyone!!  I just wanted to share another really quick tip to help express yourself when journaling on your layouts.  Today it is all about the music.  Or rather the lyrics that you often find yourself singing along to.

I like to find inspiration in everything and it is not a new idea to use songs as a starting point.  In fact there are even challenge sites that this whole premise revolves around.  :)

Recently I took my daughter to her very first concert.  And it was amazing.  Both Tahlia and myself really enjoyed the production that Taylor Swift performs.  I also thought the lyrics to one of her songs was too beautiful not to use.  The words express exactly how I felt about my little girl growing up.

{beautiful}

So the next time you are struggling to find the right words, maybe you could look to the music and find your inspiration.

Thanks for visiting...x
